ALIBAG, INDIA: BEACHFRONT RESORT

M&A International, Ltd., have designed a one-of-a-kind beachfront resort with an abundance of flora and fauna suitable to the local climate. The site’s natural 25-ft. easterly slope has been utilized in the master plan to the fullest possible extent for cost considerations, as well as to maximize the eastern landscape and ocean views from all major areas of the resort.

The project has four major components: 16 cottages; a 64-room, 4-story hotel wing behind the cottages, with a large atrium lobby serving as the central point from where all major components of the resort are accessed; a formal garden with a waterfall directly off the atrium lobby, to the north; and, abutting the west side of the lobby, a 12,000-sq.-ft. banquet hall with basement-level service areas, a rooftop bar, and two rooftop restaurants with an ancillary kitchen.

Our plan calls for a building based on green design principles for sustainability and aiming for a SILVER or GOLD RATING.

Cost: $65 million
Construction: 2011 – 2013
